To solve the problems of poor communication ability and incomplete network coverage of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) during power line inspection, this paper proposes a UAV line inspection communication and relay scheme based on MAVLink message customization. The proposed scheme combines high-performance wireless data transmission modules with MAVLink communication protocol and uses relay communication base stations for regional coverage, and achieves regional wireless relay communication. Simulation analysis shows that the proposed scheme can effectively achieve data transmission communication and relay communication, real-time control of UAV single machines and synchronous control of UAV clusters, effectively expanding the communication methods of UAVs, and is convenient and low-cost.
