Self-Healing Properties of Metallized Films with Different Material Structures Under Multiple Stresses

As a critical component in converter valves, the full-chain localization of the research and development process of dry-type DC metallized film capacitors has become a pivotal factor restricting the development of China's high-voltage flexible direct current (HVDC) transmission systems. Currently, polypropylene is commonly employed as the dielectric material for metallized film capacitors, and the physical properties of the film are crucial in determining the overall performance of the capacitors. This paper designs an experiment to investigate the self-healing characteristics of metallized films with different material structures under multiple stress conditions. It examines the impact of material properties such as the square resistance of the metal layer, the thickness of the base film, and the structure of the metal coating on the self-healing characteristics of metallized films. This preliminary work establishes a correlation between the material properties of metallized films and their self-healing characteristics, providing a theoretical reference for optimizing the parameters of domestically produced metallized film materials.
