Generally the emission efficiency of a traditional reluctance coil launcher is difficult to break through 10%. This paper proposes a new energy recovery circuit that can recover the energy stored in the inductance to the capacitor after emission. The new circuit not only reuses the energy consumed on the circuit resistance in traditional discharge circuits, but also reduces the impact of electromagnetic resistance. These are beneficial for reducing the time for the next capacitor charging, improving the heating situation of the coil, enhancing the emission continuity, and improving the emission efficiency. In addition, slotting the armature can reduce energy loss caused by eddy current effects. And choosing the appropriate slotting method can further weaken the influence of eddy current effect to a certain extent, which can further improve efficiency.
