In order to meet the application requirements of miniaturization and compactness of pulsed power generator, a compact generator based on Tesla transformer and Blumlein spiral pulse forming line is proposed with the structure of high-power gas switch behind.The pulse generator consists of primary energy, Tesla transformer, Blumlein spiral pulse forming line and gas switch. This paper gives the overall structure design and working principle, and through theoretical and simulation analysis, the pulse generator can output voltage greater than 330kV, pulse width about 80ns, and the power about 2GW when the impedance is about 50Ω. Preliminary experimental research is carried out, and results are consistent with the simulation.
