Biosystematics of Genus Agropyron

The genus Agropyron J. Gaertner, a group of crested wheatgrass with the P being recognized as a fundamental genome, has a diverse array of morphology, ecology, and distribution in Triticeae. Three species, including Agropyron pectiniforme (M. Bieb.) Roem. et Schult., Agropyron cristatum (L.) Gaertner, and Agropyron deweyi Á. Löve, were included into the genus. One subspecies and one variety were recognized in Agropyron pectiniforme and one subspecies and three varieties were included into Agropyron cristatum. In addition, 11 questionable species need to be identified by experimental data.
