Study on Vibration and Temperature Aging Characteristics of Fiber-Optic Current Transformer

As one of the important equipment in DC transmission engineering, fiber-optic current transformer plays a key role in the safe and stable operation of DC system. In long-term operation, the vibration fault and low temperature fault of fiber-optic current transformer can easily cause the DC system to stop or block. This paper first introduced the common faults of fiber-optic current transformer in the system, and then proposed aging test scheme including vibration aging test and temperature aging test schemes according to the fault conditions. By building a test platform, the aging test schemes are used to verify whether the fiber-optic current transformer would be exposed to vibration performance problems and temperature performance defects, and proposed suggestions for performance improvement of fiber-optic current transformer.
