摘要

Against the background of the development of the Hainan Free Trade Port, an empirical study is carried out to investigate the communicative competence of students with tourism-related majors in Hainan vocational colleges from the perspectives of linguistic competence, sociolinguistic competence, discourse competence and strategic competence, and linguistic competence, which consists of listening ability and oral language ability. The results indicate that among the five factors of communicative competence, oral language ability is the highest, followed by listening ability, strategic competence, and sociolinguistic competence, and discourse competence is the weakest. It is also concluded from the study that the overseas travel experience or willingness of students and their contact with foreigners have a positive influence on their communicative competence, which shows the importance of intercultural communication in real situations. The communicative competence of students of tourism-related majors in Hainan vocational colleges is not satisfactory. The analytical results also show that each factor among the four dimensions is positively correlated with each other.
