Undoubtedly, Australian suburbs are cultural sites, yet for a considerable period, the mainstream societal narrative has overshadowed assumptions about suburban experiences throughout Australia. Negative stigmas often accompany suburbs with significant ethnic concentrationsEthnic concentration. However, this chapter presents and alternative narrative. It presents the ethnic concentrationEthnic concentration phenomenon as a positive experience harmonising with the cultural, social and religious values/needs of the Lebanese Australian community. This chapter delves into the housing choices and preferences of the fifteen participating Lebanese Australian households. These decisions and preferences are markedly influenced by the demographic characteristics of the suburb, the presence of ethnic services and infrastructureEthnic services and infrastructure, and the perceived ideal current and future lifestyle and household composition.
