Performance Driven VLSI Adder Choices in Image Processing: A Comparative Analysis
摘要
The paramount significance of integrating image processing and very large-scale integration (VLSI) is evident in this work, where the focus lies on enhancing visual quality. This work delves into the pivotal integration of very large-scale integration (VLSI) and image processing, recognizing their crucial roles in image enhancement. Specifically focusing on brightness and invert operations employing various adder architectures, the objective is to pinpoint the most efficient adder through a comprehensive analysis of area and power utilization. Multiple adders are incorporated for each operation, and their performance is meticulously evaluated through HDL coding and simulation using Vivado 2019.1. Emphasizing the paramount importance of VLSI and image processing, this research highlights their significance in the realm of image enhancement. The identified efficient adder not only establishes a benchmark for future VLSI-based implementations but also underscores the instrumental role of integrated circuits in optimizing image processing tasks. This convergence not only bridges the gap between image enhancement and VLSI technology but also sets the stage for transformative advancements in visual quality and the human experience.
