A Digital Twin Platform for the Industrial Control System of Chemical Production

In this paper, we develop a digital twin platform constructed by using Unity3D, aiming at optimizing the monitoring and management of chemical production lines. Unlike traditional industrial control software, which relies on flat interfaces and icon displays, our digital twin system offers a more intuitive visual representation of the whole situation of chemical production lines. The system consists of two modules: 1) a data module that acquires the sensor data from the sensor data of ICS, and uses a database to manage the data; 2) a display module that tackles the 3D models of the production line, 2D/3D user interface design, and the production simulation. By efficiently visualizing sensor data within the system user interface and supporting multi-user data distribution, the platform significantly enhances the ability of production managers to quickly and conveniently grasp the current state of production. This advancement not only augments operational efficiency but also can be used in production simulation, ultimately facilitating improved decision-making and operational optimization.
