Research on Fault Location Method of Wind Farm Collector Line Based on Karenbauer and DWT

In view of the different wiring modes of collector lines in different wind farms, fault location by traditional impedance method and traveling wave method is difficult to achieve fault location of collector lines in wind farms. A fault location method based on improved two-terminal fault location method is proposed to realize fault location of wind farm collector line. Through PSCAD/EMTDC simulation experiment, the fault electrical wave is decoupled by phase-mode transformation, and the fault type and fault phase can be identified.In order to determine the wave head, a method of calculating the position of the fault point by obtaining the mode maximum by using discrete wavelet transform is proposed.The proposed method has high accuracy for fault localization, which can reduce the operation and maintenance workload of wind power plants and improve the economic benefits of wind power plants.
