Extraction of the Outer Surface of a Digital Model Based on the Immuno-Infection Method

Due to various process characteristics, typical CAD configurations often result in a significant number of internal surfaces that do not meet the definition of manifolds, posing challenges in constructing the computational mesh algorithms necessary for CAE. In contrast to traditional methods that rely on manual removal of internal structures, this paper presents a novel method for extracting the external surface of the digital model using the Immuno-Infection method. This method automatically extracts the external surface of the digital model using the geometric wet-surface judgment mechanism and the assumption that the surface is a two-dimensional manifold, thus addressing the limitations of manual labor in the traditional method.
