Hybrid AC Microgrid Control Strategy for Island and Grid-Connected Mode
摘要
This chapter describes a control strategy of hybrid energy system of PV, battery, and genset for grid-connected and standalone applications. The different control techniques of the power converters in the microgrid and the control strategy for operation of hybrid energy sources are discussed. Grid-forming and grid-following strategies for PV and battery are described with grid and genset, and synchronization of grid and genset with voltage source converter (VSC) through phase locked Loop is described. The V-f and PQ control mode is used in grid-forming and grid-following mode, respectively. Control strategy for the operation of hybrid system is presented. All the distributed energy resources are connected at point of common coupling (PCC). Perturb and observe algorithm is used for maximum power extraction from PV, for battery control, bidirectional DC-DC converter is used. PV and battery are connected at PCC through a DC-to-AC bidirectional converter, The DC-link voltage is maintained by battery in islanded mode. Finally, different cases of operating modes of hybrid system are used, and for the validation of control strategy, MATLAB/ SIMULINK software is used.
