Computation of Released Feeder Capacity with DG and DSTATCOM for Electrical Power Distribution Network

In this study, the simultaneous allocation of DG and D-STATCOM (DGDSTAT) has been presented for the reconfigured electrical power radial distribution network (EPRDN) for getting better voltage profile and reducing line losses in steady-state condition for distribution network. Distribution network operator (DNO) encourages the DG developer for increasing the installation of DG. In this paper, DG is providing active power support, whereas D-STATCOM will fulfill the variable reactive power demand arises by DG as well as load. The ork of the paper are (i) finding best possible place of DG, (ii) finding best possible place of D-STATCOM using voltage sensitivity index, (iii) reconfiguration and different load models impacts on best possible sizing of DG and D-STATCOM, and (iv) estimating feeder released capacity with reconfiguration and simultaneous allocation of DG and D-STATCOM.
