Industry 4.0 Technologies: Digital Platform-Based Smart System Integration

In the context of the growing uncertainty of the external environment and the rapid development of Industry 4.0 technologies, the development of integration tools is required to scale and increase the efficiency of various smart systems based on Industry 4.0 technologies and ensure the development of the regional innovative ecosystem. A smart system refers to any organization (enterprise, university, etc.) with a high level of digital maturity. Digital platforms are proposed to be used as the main structural element of the infrastructure for the integration of technologies, competencies, and resources. The architecture and digital services of the platform are proposed to be built and developed on the basis of Industry 4.0 technologies, such as artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things (IoT), and big data. A conceptual model has been developed to support the procedure for integrating smart systems using the services and tools of the digital platform. The model is based on the process of evaluating and selecting integration actors who possess the necessary resources and competencies to integrate into the infrastructure of the digital platform. The use of the proposed conceptual solutions will improve the digital infrastructure of smart systems, which will create an opportunity to increase the speed of development and scaling under the conditions of established restrictions. The novelty of the solutions and the practical significance of the publication lie in the application of the author's models of integration and evaluation of the development of smart systems based on digital platform solutions and Industry 4.0 technologies. Expert methods, systems, and information approaches, as well as structuring methods in the organization of complex examinations, are used for modeling. The proposed tools have been tested in the activities of three universities.
