The Impact of Video Games on Young Adults’ Cognitive Skills: Games for Anger Management

The research investigates the positive impact of video games on young adults' cognitive skills and advocates for their use as a learning tool for anger management. To achieve the study objectives, the researchers followed multi-methods research including interviews with psychologists to identify the effect of video games on young adults as well as surveys and focus groups with young adult video game players to identify what they learned from games and what makes a game fun for them. The study conducted qualitative and quantitative analysis. The research found that video games can enhance cognitive skills, are effective learning tools. A video game that teaches anger management can be an effective educational tool. More research is suggested to assess long-term effects.
