The menstrual cycle is a pivotal step in a girl’s life. Experiencing changes attributed to menstruation can be challenging, and these challenges include adapting to the physiological, emotional, and environmental shifts. Society, more specifically parents, play a role in young females’ education and experiences, and perceptions of the menstrual cycle. The following study aims to explore the role of parents in adolescent girls’ menstrual cycle education. The first section, which is the literature review, interpreted previous studies executed on adolescent menstrual cycle education and the role of parents in it. Secondly, the methodology, devised two different questionnaires, one for parents and the other for daughters, gathering a total of 107 responses, in addition to visual research to explore past successful visual communication solutions published on the topic. Then, findings and analysis revealed a discrepancy in satisfaction levels between parents and adolescent daughters relating to menstrual cycle education. Findings from the surveys disclosed conflict in communication about menstruation, particularly from the daughters’ side. These findings were relative within a national context. Findings from primary and secondary research led to the development of a technological visual solution in the form of a mobile application prototype targeted towards facilitating communication between menstruating adolescent females and mothers, accompanied by a 2D animation video to promote the application.
