Ensuring Quality and Equity of Outsourced Education

This chapter will suggest some solutions to two issues around educational outsourcing; that is, the enhancement of the quality of outsourcing education and the promotion of its equity. Solutions to quality issues are presented phase-by-phase, i.e., identifying service providers, contract writing, implementation of outsourced education, and end-of-program evaluation and contract renewal. Solutions to equity issues are suggested around the three aspects of social justice drawing on Nancy Fraser’s justice framework—redistribution of resources, positive recognition of student identities, and empowerment of marginalized students, all of which aim at ensuring social justice and equitable educational opportunities for all.
