Three-Way Group Decision Under Linguistic Assessments

Based on decision-theoretic rough sets model of three-way decision, this chapter augments the existing model by introducing linguistic terms for risk management. Considering two types of the parameters being used in the three-way decision with linguistic assessments, a certain type of novel three-way decision based on the Bayesian decision procedure is constructed. In this way, three-way decision with collective wisdom is extended to the qualitative environment. With the aid of multi-attribute group decision making, the values of these parameters are determined. An adaptive algorithm supporting consistency improvement of multi-attribute group decision making is designed. Then, this chapter optimizes the scales of the linguistic terms with the use of particle swarm optimization. The values of these parameters of three-way decision are aggregated when proceeding with group decision making. Finally, the model of three-way decision with linguistic assessments of Ref. [5] is applied to the selection process of new product ideas.
