Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality in Fisheries
摘要
The educational landscape is undergoing a remarkable transformation. Recent advancements have led to a paradigm shift in instructional environments, epitomized by the transition from traditional chalkboards to modern interactive whiteboards. Virtual Reality (V.R.) and Augmented Reality (AR) have emerged as groundbreaking tools within this evolution, offering students immersive learning experiences that resonate profoundly and endure well beyond their time in the classroom. VR enhances educational efficacy and fosters essential soft skills such as empathy, collaboration, and social engagement. In the realm of fisheries education, VR presents a significant opportunity to revolutionize pedagogical methods. As this technology continues to mature, the challenge for Indian fisheries education entities lies in crafting and integrating diverse VR models to enrich the curriculum and equip students with knowledge and hands-on experience in sustainable fisheries management. The onus is now on these institutions to harness VR’s full potential to sculpt the future leaders of fisheries science.
