Smart healthcare systems and predictive medicine are in the modern-day definition of transformed healthcare systems that utilize artificial intelligence, machine learning, and advanced data analytics as the part. Understanding the basis of these applications forms the focus of this chapter with special reference to their contribution to improving diagnostic capability, prognosis of disease, and the tailoring of therapeutic plans across all branches of medicine. These technologies beginning from medical image analysis and machine learning algorithms used in electronic health records, to wearable devices and expanded application of telemedicine have measured its advantages that include better patient outcomes, ease of operations, and cost optimization. But issues, such as information quality, compatibility, and the use of big data analytics while protecting the patient’s privacy remain key concerns that must be dealt with fully. From the current trends, future trends like AI drug discovery, Precision medicine, and innovations in blockchain, and quantum computing will further transform the healthcare industry as more collaborative research and innovative efforts target healthcare optimization worldwide.
