Breast cancer is a significant global health issue, with over one million cases expected by 2025. It disproportionately affects women in developing countries, where access to affordable treatment and early detection are limited. The increasing prevalence of breast cancer compromises the achievement of the SDGs, particularly SDG 3 (ensuring healthy lives), SDG 1 (ending poverty), and SDG 10 (reducing inequality). Breast cancer survivors face long-term physical, emotional, and psychological effects that impact their quality of life and ability to contribute to society and the economy. The risk factors for breast cancer include age, genetic mutations, family history, and hormonal factors. Early detection through breast screening is crucial for successful treatment of breast cancer. The 2030 Agenda recognizes the negative impact of chronic diseases, including breast cancer, on most SDGs.
