Brain and Antiaging Medicine: Antiaging of Cognitive Function: Nutrition
摘要
According to a report by the Lancet Commission on Dementia Prevention, Intervention, and Care, it is expected that by continuously avoiding 12 risk factors related to dementia (educational history, midlife hearing loss, high blood pressure, obesity, smoking, depression, social isolation, lack of exercise, diabetes in those over 65, excessive alcohol consumption, traumatic brain injury, air pollution), the onset can be prevented by about 40% [1]. The onset of Alzheimer’s disease (AD), in particular, among dementia is considered to occur latently with the addition of environmental factors as mentioned above, against a genetic background, and can be prevented by correcting these environmental factors. However, there are few cases where various risk factors and protective factors pointed out in animal experiments and large-scale epidemiological studies have been proven to have a reliable preventive effect with reproducibility in intervention studies.
