Antiaging Interventions: Weight Loss and Metabolic Improvement Surgery and Antiaging
摘要
The goal of obesity treatment is not to eliminate obesity, but to reduce obesity and improve obesity-related health disorders. In the treatment of obesity, nutritional, exercise, cognitive-behavioral, and pharmacological therapies have been implemented after understanding the patient’s complex pathology, but in severe obesity with a BMI (body mass index) of 35 kg/m2 or more, it is often extremely difficult to reduce and maintain weight through internal medicine treatment. Surgical treatment for severe obesity has been reported both overseas and in our country to be able to maintain effective weight loss in the long term compared to internal medicine treatment, and the improvement of obesity-related health disorders is also good [1]. Obesity surgery has been generally referred to as weight loss and metabolic improvement surgery, as metabolic improvements and various changes in gastrointestinal hormones are confirmed from the early postoperative period before weight loss occurs [1].
