Antiaging Checkup: Evaluation of Immunity
摘要
The immune system, which protects us from infectious diseases caused by pathogens and transformed cells like cancer cells that occur within our bodies, is an important function for maintaining health. The immune system operates throughout the body, and immune cells are basically present in all organs, repeatedly carrying out immune responses to correctly recognize self and nonself and eliminate nonself. Immune function is known to be affected by multiple endogenous and exogenous factors, such as gender, age, exposure to harmful chemicals, stress, exercise, and nutrition, in addition to immune abnormalities where the incidence and severity of various infectious diseases increase due to changes in the number or proportion of specific immune cells, which are diseases of the immune system. It is difficult to evaluate immune function by understanding the immune status of healthy people clinically because the immune parameters to be evaluated vary considerably among healthy individuals, depending on which factors most affect immune function. The correlation between the factors mentioned above and immune function is organized below based on previous findings.
