摘要

This chapter explores the fusion of Digital Technologies (DT), Internet of Things (IoT), and Artificial Intelligence (AI) for enhancing urban intelligence and decision-making processes. It investigates how these technologies are integrated to improve various aspects of urban life, including sustainability, resilience, democratic governance, and community empowerment. Drawing on a comprehensive review of the literature, case studies, and theoretical frameworks, the chapter provides insights into the potential benefits, challenges, and implications of adopting integrated smart city solutions. The integration of DT, IoT, and AI enables cities to collect, analyze, and act on vast amounts of data in real-time, leading into more informed and proactive decision-making. For example, AI-driven predictive analytics help optimize resource allocation, enhance service delivery, and improve infrastructure management, contributing to the efficient and sustainable operation of urban systems. Moreover, IoT sensors and connected devices enable cities to monitor environmental conditions, traffic flows, and energy consumption, providing valuable insights for urban planning and policy formulation. Furthermore, the chapter discusses how integrated technologies contribute to promoting digital inclusion, civic engagement, and democratic governance in cities. By providing platforms for citizen participation, feedback, and collaboration, cities can foster transparency, accountability, and responsiveness in government. Citizen-centric innovation approaches, such as co-creation workshops, empower residents to contribute their expertise and local knowledge to the design and implementation of smart city initiatives, ensuring that solutions are tailored to community needs and priorities.
