Mathematical Modelling and Speed Control of SRM Drive

摘要

Switched Reluctance Motor (SRM) is a synchronous AC machine which extracts mechanical power from reluctance torque. This chapter presents the mathematical modelling and small signal modelling of switched reluctance machine. Speed control of Switched reluctance motor drive with PID speed controller employing hysteresis controller and sliding-mode controller for inner current loop is presented. Simulation results of open loop, current control loop and speed control loop including transient response analysis is presented. The results of the transient introduced to variation in various input conditions and load torque is studied and analysed for both current control and speed control loop. The settling time reduces on including the SMC current controller.
