This is a survey article. We introduce the isoparametric hypersurface theory including the classification. The Gauss images supply Lagrangian submanifolds in the complex hyperquadrics, and we discuss the intersection theory concerning the Arnold-Givental conjecture. We add some results on the related overdetermined systems.
