Introduction

This book is not about the threats of far-right terrorism, white supremacist violence or racially and ethnically motivated violent extremism—although such forms of political violence remain, of course, very real and serious across many countries especially in the Global North. Instead, the book focusses more on the socio-political conditions and dynamics within our societies, where far-right groups and movements emerge and operate and where their narratives circulate and often fall on—possibly increasingly—fertile grounds.
