Basic Concepts of Nanomaterials

The naming of nanomaterials appeared in 1980s, which refers to any material with at least one dimension of 0.1–100 nm or composed of them as matrix units. Nanomaterials can be crystalline or quasicrystalline or amorphous. The basic unit or constituent unit of nanomaterials can be composed of atomic clusters, nanoparticles, nanowires or nano-films, which can be metal materials, inorganic non-metallic materials and polymer materials.
