Serologic Diagnosis
摘要
Serologic tests serve as diagnostic methods to identify specific antibodies or antigens in a patient’s serum, typically indicating past or present infection or exposure to a particular pathogen, such as Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori). In diagnosing H. pylori infection, serologic tests target the detection of antibodies produced by the patient’s immune system in response to H. pylori exposure. One notable advantage of serologic tests is their noninvasiveness. Unlike invasive methods like endoscopy, which requires the insertion of a tube into the stomach, serologic tests only necessitate a blood sample. This makes them particularly attractive to patients wary of more invasive procedures.
