Histopathological Examinations
摘要
Tissue examination is currently one of the standard tests for diagnosing Helicobacter pylori infection. In addition to diagnosing H. pylori infection, tissue examination can provide additional pathological information such as atrophy of the gastric mucosa, inflammation, and intestinal metaplasia. The diagnostic precision of histology is influenced by several factors, such as the location, and number of biopsied samples, staining procedures and quality, the use of proton pump inhibitors, antibiotics, as well as the experience of the pathologists.
