Proton-Pump Inhibitors and Potassium-Competitive Acid Blockers
摘要
Approximately three decades ago, proton-pump inhibitors (PPIs) became accessible and started being utilized to eliminate Helicobacter pylori infection. Eradication treatments that include PPIs have shown higher effectiveness compared to those that do not include them, and eradication therapy regimens, which consist of PPI and two or more antibiotics, are currently used worldwide. In this section, we will review the role and efficacy of gastric acid suppressants, including PPIs and potassium-competitive acid blockers (P-CABs), in the treatment of H. pylori infection.
