Tailored Therapy

摘要

The eradication rate of empirical triple therapy for Helicobacter pylori has been declining over the decades due to the increasing prevalence of clarithromycin resistance. Precise prediction and diagnosis of the clarithromycin-resistance strain are crucial for the successful primary eradication of H. pylori. To address this challenge, numerous new therapeutic strategies have been emerged. The optimal treatment approach involves combining antibiotics based on susceptibility test results. However, the efficacy of H. pylori culture is often suboptimal, leading to the reliance on point mutation detection, a closely linked marker of resistance. In this chapter, I aim to delve into the topic of tailored therapy focused on clarithromycin resistance.
