Special Techniques: Total Body Irradiation, T-SET, IORT, and Hyperthermia
摘要
Recent advances in radiation techniques have brought a change in the delivery of treatment for specific disease sites as well as in mitigating radiation toxicity while increasing the control rates. Some examples include total body irradiation (TBI) for hematologic cancers as a preparation for marrow or stem cell transplantation, total skin electron therapy (T-SET), intra-operative radiotherapy (IORT), and hyperthermia. This chapter includes an introduction to each technique, dose, planning, clinical application, and a review of key studies.
