Education and Sociopsychodrama: Paths of Alliance with Life

What does Jacob Levy Moreno's sociopsychodramatic approach have to say about the challenging times we live in, in the field of Education? That guiding question brings into focus the great theoretical and methodological legacy of the thinker who sought a healthy society in which each socius sees themselves as a participant in the construction of the common good. It is up to Education, in the different contexts in which it occurs, to awaken human possibilities—a new citizen sociability that ensures “survival,” a dignified life, on the path of spontaneity-creativity. The objective is to explain how this can happen in two moments. In the first, addressing Moreno's principles worked on by scholars of his thought, in the light of the calls made by UNESCO, especially the Report of the International Commission on the Futures of Education of 2022, entitled “Rethinking our futures together: a new social contract for Education.” In a second moment, focusing on the author’s network of roles, as the coordinator of an undergraduate program and a lecturer at a university, seeking to align with this historical moment, marked by the pandemic, but seeking an alliance with life in the everyday scenes lived in relation.
