Emerging Role of Microbes in Bioconversion of Biomass to Value Added Products: Current Insight and Future Status
摘要
The exponentially growing human population has resulted in a massive food and resources demand, consumption of these resources has ledto generation of biomass as waste that shows deleterious impact on sustainable agriculture and environmental protection. This annually producing biomass (agro-industrial waste) are estimated in millions of tonnes worldwide that have further emphasized the problem of disposal, hazard to human health, land and water pollution, ecosystems and biodiversity. A suitable strategy for bioconversion of biomass into value added products without harming the natural ecosystem is efficient effort in the human welfare through developing biotechnological applications. In this consequences, the emerging role of microbes are significantin the conversion of biomass into valuable products, agrowaste management, enhancement of agricultural production and improvement in economic and ecological system. So use of microbes with different biotechnological approaches is the most effective method to treat different biomass, in addition to being eco-friendly, cost-effective and environmentally sustainable method. Eventually, in this way, we can link the gap between the implementation of microbial bioconversion technologies for value-added product formation and reprocessing of biomass waste into wealth, and popularize this innovative approach for global executions that resolve the issue of economic and environmental protection.
