Wireless power transfer (WPT) systems are becoming popular in this modern world. This process transmits power from the transmitter coil to the receiver coil without requiring a wire connection. The transmitter coil is driven with the same resonance frequency as that of the receiving coil. Moreover, the WPT system is becoming famous in the industry all over the globe due to its increase in demand among both consumers and businesses. The main advantage of this system is that it has less effect on global warming because of its lower carbon monoxide emissions. Therefore, this paper presents a review of wireless power transfer systems. This paper also discusses wireless power transfer system techniques and their applications. In addition, challenges and future prospects for WPT systems are also presented in this paper. Finally, this paper presents a comprehensive and current bibliography of WPT systems, providing valuable resources for researchers in this field.
