A Table Lamp Shaped Compact Triband Antenna for Various Wireless Technologies
摘要
This paper presents an irregular hexagon-shaped, coplanar waveguide-fed, planar antenna for triple-band operations. The antenna is designed and analyzed on a cost-effective FR4 epoxy substrate having a thickness of 0.8 mm. With the substrate dimension of 30 × 38 mm which corresponds to 0.0376λ0 × 0.0476λ0, (where λ0 is the wavelength corresponds to the minimum cut-off frequency) the antenna gives wide impedance bandwidth in all three frequency bands. Numerous parameters including reflection coefficient, radiation efficiency, radiation pattern in the E and H planes, and gain are examined using the CST microwave studio to evaluate the antenna performance. In different resonating bands, the antenna gives the fractional bandwidth of 95.26% (0.376–1.06 GHz), 70.6% (3.07–6.42 GHz) and 50.1% (8.45–14.1 GHz) with 89.6% of peak radiation efficiency and 4.1 dBi of peak gain. The suggested antenna can be utilized for a variety of things because of its compact electrical size and strong performance like LTE-700, GSM-850/900, WiMAX, WLAN and other wireless applications.
