In the medical field, many patients along with the doctors face a lot of difficulties throughout the treatment. One of which is during the infusion of intravenous fluids such as Normal Saline or Dextrose sugar. During this procedure, some of the most common challenges faced are: Occlusion, i.e., blockage of the IV line preventing fluid flow, fluid overload or electrolyte imbalances if the IV rate is not properly monitored and patient discomfort or reverse blood flow when the IVF bottle finishes. To counter the problem, an IoT-based system is designed and applied to monitor and alert the emptying of IVF bottle to the responsible authority. The concept of load cell is implemented here so that this system can be applied to any type of saline liquid. Also, this system uses a beginner friendly free IoT Cloud application that can accessed through any mobile connected to any internet network.
