Concluding Remarks
摘要
I draw some conclusions and recommend some suggestions in this chapter. It is also important to think about how recent development in logic such as critical thinking and design thinking to be put in mantiq in Islamic education. Without critical thinking and design thinking, the Muslim world could not thrive as maximum as it used to lead the development of science and philosophy in the Middle Age. This effort might undergo a sea change such as convincing Muslims that logic is not merely a tool but also a developing study. The fact that al-Farabi, Ibn Sina, al-Ghazali, Ibn Rusyd, Syekhd al-Akhdari and other scholars wrote their own books of logic; does indicate that logic has always been a developing study in the Muslim world. Their books must carry and exercise different arguments concerning logic. The problem is such development does not work as good as it could have been. Therefore, the Islamic study of logic (mantiq) could catch up with the development of modern logic in the West.
