This paper presents a simulation-assisted analysis of daylight performance for an early-stage conceptual design project in Tirana, Albania. It explores various design variables, including building shape, orientation, window-to-wall ratio (WWR), transparency, and shading, using grasshopper, Radiance, Ladybug, and Honeybee software. Illuminance levels are evaluated to assess daylight distribution, emphasizing the method’s effectiveness in optimizing annual daylight performance. The results highlight the impact of building morphology, WWR, and shading strategies on daylighting performance, aiming to underscore critical design factors for enhancing daylight performance in the early design phase, particularly in the Mediterranean climate context.
