Thermal energy storage (TES) is a technology recognized as being able to have a big impact on the decarbonization of our energy system, including decarbonization of buildings. This paper shows the research trends and gaps of TES in the literature, and how the research group GREiA at the University of Lleida is filling the research gaps with the work developed for the last 25 years.
