National Geodatabase to Map Consumptions for Energy Transition
摘要
The availability of a realistic dataset for energy consumption and production is central to guide energy policies. However, gathering measured energy information can be challenging due to disclosure restrictions, leading to modelled archetypes or synthetic load generators to estimate demand profiles. The spatial and temporal variations of real-measured energy patterns also affect renewable energy production. The evaluation of demand and renewable supply is needed to assess new configurations of local energy generation, as residential prosumers, and energy communities. This paper provides a national GIS-based database for residential load profiles as a first step to assess the potential of solar prosumers. The study focuses on Italy, using data from household electricity measurements by the energy authority, categorized by provincial areas. The dataset provides hourly electricity consumption profiles for each province, including variations across day types and seasons. Solar PV production is estimated to determine the share of potential satisfied electricity for an average domestic prosumer. The spatialized average hourly profiles register territorial and yearly variations in domestic energy consumption. Higher consumption is in Southern and Island areas, where also solar radiation is higher. Despite the simplified resolution and simplification of data, a spatialized dataset of average hourly domestic consumption and solar production will be useful for evaluations of energy transition perspectives.
