Mind and World
摘要
On a day nine centuries ago, craftsmen at a kiln in Ruzhou, Henan province, were cautiously opening the furnace door. Hundreds of porcelain pieces had been firing at 1300 degrees Celsius for over a dozen hours. Yet, the craftsmen were not in a hurry; instead, they allowed the temperature of the pieces to drop rapidly. The kiln continuously emitted a symphony of crisp clinking sounds.
