The proposed antenna is a Y-shaped compact tri-band monopole antenna for WLAN/WiMAX/X-Band applications that has been investigated in the article. These frequency operations cover 2.6 GHz, 5.6 GHz, and 8.2 GHz respectively. The size of the proposed low-profile antenna is 30 × 32 × 1.6 mm3. The antenna is designed by looking at several antenna metrics, such as the current distribution, and radiation pattern which have omnidirectional behavior. The antenna has a return loss of 33 dB in frequency range (2.1–3.1 GHz), 29.8 dB on (5.2–5.9 GHz) and 30.2 dB on (8.0–8.5 GHz). Impedance bandwidth of the antenna is 38.47%, 12.50%, and 6.09% respectively.
