Design of Cell-Free Massive MIMO for Beyond 5G Systems with MMSE and RZF Processing

A massive MIMO with Cell Free (CF-mMIMO) is an efficient technology for growing users’ requirement and better data rates beyond 5G systems. CF-mMIMO contains distributed Access Points (APs) in large number which serves few numbers of users at same time or else frequency. APs connect with users in 5G cell-free network by using joint initial access and pilot assignment. The main goal is to analyze technology to cooperate between APs. Mainly, spectral efficiency is analyzed with four different levels of cell-free implementation. It compares CF-massive MIMO with small cell and cellular massive MIMO network. In this paper, Regularized Zero Forcing (RZF), Maximum ratio (MR), and Minimum Mean Square Error (MMSE) are used to optimize spectral efficiency. By using this precoding, it reduces fronthaul signaling in compare to cellular network. It is likely better performance than cellular and small cell massive MIMO network. In our paper, we discuss to centralize implementation by using MMSE and MR. It maximizes spectral efficiency with less fronthaul signaling. We also discuss the variation of small-cell signal and cell-free signal with a fixed number of user equipment.
