Given the abstract nature and complexity of the principles involved in this section, the primary approach of this design is to explore the relationship between commonly used smartphone applications in daily life and new geographic technologies. This exploration will take the form of hands-on activities that allow students to better understand the working principles of remote sensing (RS) by comparing their school’s RS imagery with actual photos of campus buildings. Furthermore, students will delve into the working mechanisms of Mobike, as well as the location features of Two Steps/Baidu Maps, to understand how they accurately depict movement trajectories and simulate navigation, thus gaining insights into the functionality of GPS. Through analyzing the layer functions of Baidu Maps, spatial analysis, and the graphical expression of movement trajectories in Two Steps APP, students will gain a sense of the application of GIS.
