This chapter addresses challenges in school mental health education, such as insufficient follow-up interventions, inefficiencies in management processes, subjectivity in screening results, and data security concerns. We present the design and implementation of a Smart Mental Health Education System tailored for schools, developed through comprehensive stakeholder engagement. Focusing on the processes of “screening,” “following,” and “intervening,” the system features enriched early warning and intervention methods, enhanced student mental health records with intelligent archiving, professional course guidance, convenient access to screening data, and robust data security measures. Employing a grid-based management approach that integrates initial psychological evaluations, class advisor reports, and psychological counselor assessments, the system more precisely identifies at-risk students. A dynamic mental health archive enables automatic integration and cross-system data synchronization, improving record-keeping efficiency. Leveraging big data analytics, the system provides precise and efficient psychological training tools customized to individual student needs. Piloted in nine schools, including Hangzhou No. 2 High School, the system has enhanced the efficiency and effectiveness of mental health initiatives. Our innovations contribute to a more scientific and secure framework for school-based psychological crisis screening and intervention.
