Frog eye leaf spot (FLS) disease, caused by Cercospora sojina K. Hara, poses a substantial threat to soybean cultivation globally. This chapter explores the different aspects of FLS, encompassing pathogen biology, symptomatology, disease cycle, epidemiology and management strategies. The disease’s impact on soybean yield and quality underscores its importance. FLS-induced losses are mainly due to reduced photosynthetic capacity, premature defoliation, poor pod formation and seed infection. Yield losses ranging from 10% to 60% have been reported, exacerbating regional and global consequences depending upon the favourable conditions. Furthermore, this chapter also provides idea of disease mechanisms, different management strategies and highlights pioneering innovations and advancements made, thus providing a valuable resource for researchers and other stakeholders in shaping soybean research.
